Datavant is seeking an Outpatient Auditing Specialist to perform facility coding audits using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers, and to provide clear rationale for any changes. This role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory awareness, and coder education.

It is fully remote with a flexible schedule and awaits a proactive, collaborative professional. You will uphold AHIMA ethics, work with Epic/Cerner EMRs, and contribute to maintaining high coding quality while engaging with clients and internal

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outpatient facility coding experience and/or auditing.
• CCS or RHIA/RHIT required
• Maintains 95% accuracy rate
• Experience with various software including Epic, Cerner, and other prevalent EMRs

Responsibilities

• Performs Outpatient Facility coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers and appropriate coding references for accurate coding assignment
• Provides rationale explaining the reasoning behind any identified changes, including specific references and documentation locations
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and case resolution
• Provides coder education via the auditing process
• Adhere to AHIMA’s code of ethics
• Demonstrates customer-service focus and professionalism
• Handles high complexity of work and supports decision making
• Exhibits strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills
