Job summary

Health First is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to support data collection for quality clinical analysis and revenue enhancement. This fully remote role requires Florida residency and focuses on accurate ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for outpatient records, with strict adherence to coding guidelines and regulatory standards.

You will validate codes, interpret documentation, and maintain high productivity while protecting patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Three (3) years outpatient coding experience.
• Licensure: None
• Certification: None

Responsibilities

• Assign and sequence accurate ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes for reference lab, outpatient records per coding guidelines.
• Validate accuracy of codes assigned by coding software and revise as needed.
• Interpret clinical documentation to ensure codes are supported by the health record.
• Request clarification from providers when information is incomplete or ambiguous.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity per departmental standards.
• Protect patient confidentiality per HIPAA and NPHS goals.
