Job summary

e4health is seeking an Outpatient Coder to accurately abstract data into client EMR systems, following Official ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Guidelines. This full-time, non-exempt, remote role requires AHIMA or AAPC credential and a minimum of 3 years’ coding experience.

You will query physicians when needed and interact with Clinical Documentation staff. Maintain 95%+ coding accuracy and productivity, collaborating with Revenue Cycle teams for follow up and reconciliation.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess an approved AHIMA or AAPC coding credential.
• Minimum 3 years’ coding experience required; Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers to facility-based accounts as per workflow.
• Abstract and enter coded data and charges for hospital statistics and reporting requirements.
• Query physicians to clarify conflicting or incomplete clinical information when appropriate.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel for follow up.
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement and Revenue Cycle teams for follow up and reconciliation.
• Maintain required productivity and quality requirements.
• Maintain coding credential requirements.
