Job summary

e4health is seeking an Outpatient Coder for a PRN role with a minimum commitment of 15-20 hours per week. This remote opportunity involves accurate abstracting of data into client EMR systems using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.

The role requires 5+ years of coding experience, a valid AAPC or AHIMA credential, and experience in same-day surgery coding including Observation. US work authorization is required for employment.

Qualifications

• Valid AAPC or AHIMA credential required.
• Same day surgery coding including Observation experience required.
• Minimum 5 years’ coding experience; Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility experience required.
• Must have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience while living and working in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers to facility-based accounts per workflow.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting requirements.
• Query physicians to clarify conflicting or incomplete clinical information.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel.
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement and Revenue Cycle teams for follow up.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and coding credential requirements.
