Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Professional CPC coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC.
• 5+ years pro-fee coding experience in Orthopedics and podiatry services.
• Intermediate knowledge of Medicare guidelines and modifier application.
• Experience with Epic and handling denials.
• Telecommuter policy adherence required.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and guidelines for outpatient hospital professional accounts.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Monitor work queues to ensure timely coding and charging.
• Generate coding queries for clarification of physician documentation as needed.
• Stay updated on changes in coding conventions and updates.
• Manage workload effectively and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
