Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics is seeking a remote Coder I to join our team. This full-time role focuses on reviewing medical records and assigning ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with regulations, using PMS and hospital systems to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement.

Ideal candidates hold an AAPC/AHIMA credential (CCS-P/CPC) and have strong medical terminology knowledge. Expect collaboration with physicians and ongoing education on coding standards across locations.

Qualifications

• Review medical records and assign ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Proficient use of PMS and hospital records to ensure proper coding and reimbursement.
• Educate clinicians on documentation and coding standards to promote compliance.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts data and assigns accurate ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes.
• Utilizes practice management systems to account for demographics and services performed.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to obtain clinical documents required for coding.
• Provide education and support to clinical areas regarding documentation and coding of services.
