• Knowledge of Athena workflow and related coding processes.

Responsibilities

• Obtain hospital dictation and charge slips; code per payor guidelines.
• Verify/update patient demographics before posting charges.
• Code and post charges with correct modifiers and pricing.
• Print daily schedules and ensure all cases are posted.
• Audit documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.
• Respond to coding questions from other departments and staff.
• Keep abreast of state/federal changes affecting coding rules.
