Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to join our IT team and support Direct Access infrastructure contracts. The role focuses on implementing and optimizing the PeopleSoft database across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will install, patch, monitor performance, implement backup strategies, enforce security, and participate in DR planning. U.S. citizenship and DoD Secret clearance required; remote work available to listed states; travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent.
• U.S. Citizenship and DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Security+ CE Certification, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with in-depth Oracle architecture knowledge.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Experience with AWS RDS, CloudWatch, and PeopleSoft monitoring integrations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments.
• Perform proactive performance monitoring, SQL tuning, and resource optimization for PeopleSoft.
• Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability via automated monitoring and health checks.
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies, including RMAN, PITR, and cross-region backups.
• Enforce database security policies, including user access control and auditing.
• Troubleshoot database issues, including slow queries and cross-tier bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and runbooks.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Python, SQL automation, and AWS Lambda/Step Functions.
• Support migrations and upgrades across environments, including PeopleTools upgrades.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and High Availability implementations.
• Adapt to changing requirements, tooling, and security mandates while maintaining accuracy.
