Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking an Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to design, implement, and optimize the PeopleSoft database supporting enterprise HR systems. The role includes AWS RDS deployments, performance tuning, backups, security, and automation.

Fully remote position available to residents across multiple states including NJ, with up to 10% travel. Candidates must hold U.S. citizenship and a DoD Secret clearance, with at least 5 years of Oracle DBA experience.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• DoD Secret Level Security Clearance required.
• Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience with Oracle database architecture.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments.
• Perform SQL tuning and resource optimization with PeopleSoft-aware diagnostics.
• Ensure database availability with automated monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch, RDS metrics).
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies (RMAN, PITR, cross-region backups).
• Enforce database security policies, including user access and auditing.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, including slow queries and cross-tier bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain runbooks and architecture documentation.
• Automate tasks using shell scripting, Python, SQL automation, and AWS Step Functions.
• Support migrations and upgrades across environments, including PeopleTools upgrades and environment refreshes.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and HA architecture for mission-critical systems.
