Job summary

CALSTART is seeking a hands-on Head of Operations to run multiple workstreams, turning workload into structured projects and delivering them to completion. You’ll stand up plans in Monday.com, manage dependencies, and drive execution in a fully remote, national-role setting.

The role emphasizes independent execution, cross-functional coordination, and AI-enabled efficiency, with 5+ years in project/program management and strong Microsoft 365 and Monday.com experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing projects or programs in professional services, GovCon, or grant-funded environments.
• Proven ability to execute independently with minimal direction.
• Strong Microsoft 365 skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
• Hands-on experience building project plans in Monday.com from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of internal projects from intake to close-out with minimal direction.
• Create fully structured Monday.com projects with phases, dependencies, milestones and owners.
• Break down ambiguous asks into clear tasks with deadlines.
• Map dependencies and critical-path milestones for accurate sequencing.
• Flag risks and blockers early and manage tracker contents.
