Job summary

hyrUP is seeking an experienced Operational Accounting Manager for a contract or contract-to-hire role. This fully remote position follows EST hours and offers an hourly rate of $70-$100, with an upside potential including a base around $160K if converted, plus a 15% bonus and RSUs.

You will own the month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and SOX controls, collaborating with FP&A and Treasury. Ideal candidates have 6–8+ years in accounting, Big Four background, experience at a public

Qualifications

• CPA preferred with 6–8+ years of accounting experience.
• Big Four or Top 15 public accounting background.
• Experience at a publicly traded company with close and controls knowledge.
• Hands-on ownership of month-end close, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Knowledge of SOX and internal controls.
• Able to ramp quickly and deliver from week one.
• Bonus: FloQast, NetSuite, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close with timelines and accuracy.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids and fluctuation analysis.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts.
• Oversee operations accounting (AP, cash, fixed assets, ASC 350-40 software capitalization).
• Design and evidence SOX controls for public-company readiness.
• Support external audits with documentation and schedules.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury and business to resolve issues.
• Drive close automation and system optimization.
