Job summary

Top Stack is seeking a Senior Operational Accountant to support high-priority operational accounting activities in a fully remote environment. You will review billing, assist AP, and prepare close-related entries with emphasis on accuracy and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of corporate accounting experience, strong general ledger skills, advanced Excel, and exposure to SAP or Oracle with an interest in automation/AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate/operational environment.
• Strong general ledger fundamentals including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
• Excellent Excel skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and familiarity with EPM tooling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review semi-monthly billing.
• Support accounts payable, including payment runs and payable reviews.
• Prepare and/or review accruals and journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and monthly variance analysis.
• Support month-end/period-end close activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, including automation/AI-enabled efficiencies.

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Operational Accountant to support high-priority operational accounting activities and help maintain continuity across day-to-day workflows. This role will focus on billing review, payables support, close-related entries, and reconciliations, with an emphasis on accuracy, urgency, and process improvement in a fully remote environment.

What You'll Do

• Review semi-monthly billing
• Support AP, including payment runs and operational payables review
• Prepare and/or review:
• Accruals
• Journal entries
• Account reconciliations
• Monthly flux/variance analysis
• Assist with close support (month-end / period-end activities)
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, including automation/AI-enabled efficiencies

Systems / Tools

• Experience with large ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle) plus an integrated EPM toolset
• Experience in automation/AI also valued

Ideal Background

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (corporate/operational environment preferred)
• Strong general ledger fundamentals (reconciliations, accruals, entries)
• Comfortable in complex, multi-line business environments (industry is flexible)
• Proactive, self-directed, and able to operate with urgency in a remote setting
• Advanced Excel skills
