Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow the Washington, D.C. territory, engaging with customers to educate stakeholders and drive sales goals in a field-based role.

You will travel to meet customers, participate in national meetings, and collaborate with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and peers to deliver patient-focused solutions across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and able to drive a vehicle.
• Travel 10%–15% including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed sales goals for the geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders, build relationships, and uncover customer needs.
• Communicate product portfolio value to oncology customers.
• Understand cancer care pathways and impact on patients.
• Analyze market trends across multiple distribution channels.
• Evaluate prescribing and purchasing patterns (outpatient vs inpatient).
• Develop short- and long-term plans with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and district manager.
• Ask insightful questions to tailor conversations to customer priorities.
• Ensure a consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with the in-scope team.
