Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow and accelerate the cancer portfolio within a field-based territory in the United States. The role focuses on engaging customers, educating key stakeholders, and meeting or exceeding sales goals through a patient-centered approach.

Candidates should have a relevant degree and sales or oncology experience, be willing to travel, and reside near the district. Remote work options and industry conferences are anticipated as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, work experience in the healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience being strongly preferred (including pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices) that is not sales related, professional marketing experience, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and able to drive a vehicle.
• Travel the amount of time the role requires, including overnight travel 10 - 15%.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography in collaboration with territory counterparts.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers, while building business relationships and trust.
• Communicate a compelling, patient-centered rationale for our Oncology products in their indicated uses.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans in collaboration with the local team and district manager.
• Understand customer priorities and needs to support engaging conversations about the product portfolio.
