Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to join a field-based team focused on educating stakeholders and driving growth within the oncology portfolio. The role emphasizes a patient-centered approach and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet territory goals.

The position requires travel to visit customers, attend national meetings, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals across Lexington and Eastern Kentucky.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Equivalent oncology sales/healthcare experience strongly preferred; pharma, biotech or medical devices backgrounds are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure and influencers, building relationships and trust.
• Communicate a patient-centered rationale for the oncology product portfolio during customer engagements.
• Understand cancer pathways, treatment options, and impact on patients.
• Analyze buying environments and identify trends across channels and accounts.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with the Oncology Customer Team Leader.
