Job summary

Community Health Network, Inc. is seeking an Associate Patient Access Representative (APAR) in oncology authorizations to serve as the first contact for patients.

The role involves patient registration, financial clearance, and insurance verification to prepare visits administratively and financially. The APAR coordinates with departments to ensure smooth workflows, uses EPIC for pre-registration, and adheres to CMS standards while delivering compassionate customer service in a healthcare

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years healthcare office experience and/or strong customer service background preferred.
  • Registration/Admissions: proficient in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency admits.
  • Completes Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers in a timely manner.
  • Ability to monitor and perform patient hospital and/or ambulatory movement.
  • Verifies CMS coverage and eligibility information for patients.
  • Accurately identifies and enters patient demographics, insurance, and financial information.
  • Gathers confidential health and financial information to assure payment for services.
  • Confirms completeness of the electronic health record (EHR) and makes changes as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Handle patient registrations and financial clearance.
  • Verify insurance coverage and CMS eligibility.
  • Assist with check-ins and scheduling; collect payments.
  • Maintain accurate patient demographics and ensure proper EHR documentation.
