Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow our oncology products across the Shreveport, LA territory including Monroe, Alexandria and Tyler. You will engage customers in person, educate stakeholders, and work to meet or exceed sales goals in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.

The role requires field-based travel, strong relationship building, and knowledge of oncology practice patterns. A driver’s license is necessary and relocation is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive; travel 10–15% including overnight travel.
• Reside in or within a reasonable distance to the district.

Responsibilities

• Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals for the Shreveport, LA geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure and needs; build business relationships.
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for Oncology products in indicated uses.
• Understand tumor types, treatment options, and care pathways.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment and multi-channel distribution.
• Evaluate patterns for products purchased and prescribed (outpatient vs inpatient).
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with local team and district manager.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs.
• Ensure consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with the Customer Team Leader and Key Account Manager.
