Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to grow our patient-focused oncology portfolio. The role involves educating stakeholders, building relationships, and driving sales within a multi-state territory that includes major metropolitan areas and regional markets.

As a field-based position, you will travel to visit customers, participate in national meetings, and collaborate with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and Key Account Manager to meet and exceed sales goals while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience.
• Minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, healthcare/scientific field experience with oncology focus, or related marketing/military experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Travel the amount of time the role requires, including overnight travel 10 - 15%.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers.
• Communicate compelling, patient-centered rationale for oncology products.
• Understand tumor types, pathways, and guidelines affecting patient care.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple distribution channels.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term territory plans with local team leadership.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs.
• Ensure consistent customer experience across divisions and collaborate with the Oncology Customer Team Leader, Key Account Manager, and others.
