Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Representative to cover the Lexington, Kentucky territory with travel to Eastern Kentucky. You will educate stakeholders about our oncology portfolio, build strategic relationships, and drive near- and long-term sales goals through field-based activities and national meetings.

Qualified candidates bring a strong track record in oncology sales or related healthcare roles, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 8 years of equivalent experience.
• Healthcare/scientific field experience with oncology is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the territory.
• Engage with customers to understand practice structure, business model and key influencers.
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for Oncology products to stakeholders.
• Understand cancer care pathways and treatment options and how they impact patients.
• Analyze buying patterns across channels and optimize account plans.
• Develop short- and long-term plans in collaboration with the Oncology Customer Team Leader.
