Qualifications

• Certified General Surgery Coder (CGSC) with AAPC is required.
• 2+ years coding experience in OB/GYN or related field.
• EMR/Coding proficient with Athena, Cerner and some Epic experience.
• Must pass criminal background check and drug test.
• Must reside in Texas and work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and CPT coding for inpatient/outpatient diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstract data into EMR systems and ensure accurate physician data and dispositions.
• Collaborate with Health departments to support billing and reduce denials.
• Assist in other departmental coding tasks as directed by leadership.
