Job summary

Infinx is seeking a qualified Medical Coding Associate to join our remote/hybrid team in Mobile, AL, focusing on CPT and ICD-10 coding to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials for OB/GYN clients.

Under the Coding Services Supervisor and Manager, you will assign codes, contact clients when documentation is inadequate, and stay current with payer changes. A CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P or RHIA/RHIT credential and 2 years of OB/GYN coding experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in medical coding for OB/GYN.
• Nationally recognized coding credential including CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT.
• Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, and ICD-10 codes as well as medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assign and sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes and all modifiers.
• Contact clients when documentation is inadequate, ambiguous or unclear for coding purposes.
• Monitor payer changes as they apply to diagnostic and procedure coding.
• Research and resolve coding related system edits, payer rejections and denials.
• Identify trends to improve client policy and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes through continuing education.
