Vessel Advisors is seeking a senior Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, and grant/compliance for multiple nonprofit entities. The role leads technical accounting and audit coordination, with a strong emphasis on AI-driven workflows and scalable processes.

You will manage fund accounting across restricted/unrestricted nets, coordinate with outside firms, and supervise a fractional team to deliver timely, accurate financials for executive leadership

Qualifikationen

• 8–10+ years of progressive nonprofit accounting leadership (Controller/Finance leader).
• GAAP for not-for-profit entities (ASC 958) mastery and fund accounting.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidations and federal/new grants compliance, including Uniform Guidance.

Aufgaben

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, grant and contract compliance across multi-entity nonprofits.
• Lead annual audits, coordinate with CPAs, and ensure audit readiness.
• Configure and optimize Sage Intacct; design custom financial, program and grant reports; supervise AI-enabled workflows.
• Manage fund accounting, donor-restricted assets, and endowment activities; report to boards and finance committees.
