Job summary

Vessel Advisors seeks a Controller to own multi-client accounting for construction clients, reporting to the VP of Operations and client leadership on a fractional basis. You will supervise month-end close, WIP, and revenue recognition under ASC 606, challenge project estimates, and present results to owners.

This role requires strong AI-driven workflow skills and experience with construction ERP systems. The ideal candidate brings eight plus years of construction accounting and a proactive,

Qualifications

• Experience owning job cost, WIP, and percent-of-completion revenue recognition for contractors.
• Strong command of GAAP and ASC 606 for construction contracts.
• Ability to discuss estimates with project managers and owners clearly.
• Experience with AI tools to automate reconciliations and reporting.
• Proficiency with at least one construction ERP and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Month-end close ownership for each client, including job cost review and WIP.
• Lead monthly estimate-to-complete meetings with PMs and owners.
• Review AIA pay apps, SVs, change orders, and lien waivers before payment.
• Present monthly results to owners with clear explanations of movements.
