Job summary

Vessel Advisors seeks a capable Controller to own the accounting for a portfolio of construction clients, focusing on job cost, WIP, and ASC 606 revenue recognition. You will drive monthly reporting and leverage AI tools to streamline processes.

Ideal candidates can manage multiple engagements, challenge project estimates, and communicate results clearly to owners and leadership in a remote, client-facing setting.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years progressive accounting experience in construction
• Direct ownership of job cost, WIP, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• GAAP and ASC 606 fluency
• Strong Excel skills and multi-entity reporting

Responsibilities

• Month-end close for multiple clients with job cost review and WIP ties to GL
• Lead monthly estimate-to-complete meetings with project managers
• Review AIA pay apps, schedules of values, change orders, and retainage
• Present monthly results to owners with explanations of movements
