Job summary

Wipfli’s client accounting advisory practice is seeking a Manager with strong nonprofit accounting and controller-level advisory experience to join our purpose-driven team. The role leads engagements, builds trusted client relationships, and helps nonprofits strengthen financial operations, with remote work across the US.

You will collaborate with a supportive team that values integrity, excellence, and teamwork, while guiding staff and ensuring high-quality deliverables for diverse nonprofit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 4–6 years of nonprofit and public accounting experience (audit or outsourced accounting).
• 3+ years of people/teams management.
• CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Review financial reporting packages and work papers for quality, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Prepare and analyze benchmarking data and KPIs for client insights.
• Present reporting packages and findings to clients as directed.
• Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models.
• Provide technical accounting support on complex issues.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Lead and coordinate US and offshore engagement team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Lead and coach staff and senior accountants on accounting and financial reporting matters.
