Wipfli is seeking a Senior Accountant to support nonprofit clients, guiding financial reporting, GL management, and close processes remotely. You will review ledgers, prepare monthly packages, KPI reporting, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while maintaining client workflow and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Public accounting experience (outsourced accounting or audit) preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in accounting with focus on financial reporting and GL.
• Experience with nonprofit federal grants processing and reporting required.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial reporting accuracy for assigned clients.
• Assist with complex ledgers, identifying missing transactions and trends to ensure accuracy.
• Guide the review and approval of account classifications.
• Review balance sheets for accuracy and follow up as needed.
• Coordinate project tasks to ensure efficient client workflow.
• Prepare and/or review initial monthly reporting packages, including KPIs/metrics.
• Prepare and finalize month-end close.
• Maintain and update client procedure manual.
• Prepare and/or review work papers and schedules for completeness.
• Participate in cross-collaboration with other teams/service lines.
