Job summary

Wipfli’s Outsourced Accounting practice is seeking a Senior Manager with strong nonprofit accounting and CFO level advisory experience to join our purpose-driven team. This role can be worked remotely anywhere in the US.

You will lead engagements, build trusted client relationships, and guide teams to deliver strategic financial insights, budget forecasting, and governance support for nonprofit organizations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree a plus)
• CPA designation preferred
• Experience in nonprofit accounting and compliance, including endowments and grants
• 8+ years of relevant Public Accounting or industry accounting experience
• Proven ability as a strategic advisor to nonprofit leadership and Boards
• Experience managing remote teams and travel up to 10%

Responsibilities

• Lead CFO-level advisory engagements for nonprofit clients
• Drive change management to modernize service delivery through technology and standardized processes
• Build trusted client relationships with executives and Boards
• Oversee multiple client teams delivering accounting engagements
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable improvement recommendations
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Mentor staff and promote accountability and continuous learning
