Job summary

Wipfli’s Outsourced Accounting practice seeks a Senior Manager with strong nonprofit accounting and CFO-level advisory experience to lead engagements and build trusted client relationships. You’ll drive modernization through best practices while mentoring staff and collaborating with a high-performing team.

This role can be worked remotely anywhere in the US, offering breadth of impact across nonprofit clients and opportunities for growth within Wipfli’s larger advisory platform.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant Public Accounting or industry accounting experience.
• Demonstrated experience serving as a strategic advisor to nonprofit executive leadership and Boards, including financial statement interpretation and cash flow forecasting.
• Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting and compliance including grants, endowments, and Form 990 processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFO-level client advisory engagements, delivering strategic financial insights and operational guidance.
• Drive change management initiatives to modernize service delivery through technology and best practices.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with client executives by understanding goals and delivering tailored solutions.
• Oversee multiple client teams ensuring timely and accurate engagements.
• Analyze financial performance and KPIs, providing actionable recommendations to improve profitability and cash flow.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Develop client budgets and forecasts, offering consultative support on financial planning and strategy.
• Mentor staff and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
