Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking network engineers to author and grade complex routing, switching, and troubleshooting scenarios used to evaluate frontier AI models. This is a remote, async role with a minimum of 10 hours per week and weekly payments via Stripe; compensation is $80–$120/hr, depending on experience.

The work involves writing design rationale, creating scenarios from design questions through outage troubleshooting, and evaluating model outputs for protocol accuracy and operational soundness.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional network engineering or network administration experience.
• Hands on routing, switching, and firewalls in production.
• Depth in protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Clear written English for documenting network design and troubleshooting reasoning.
• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author realistic network scenarios from design questions through outage troubleshooting.
• Write reference answers with the design and troubleshooting reasoning behind each decision.
• Grade model output for protocol accuracy and operational soundness.
• Flag configurations that read plausible but would break production networks.
