Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking network engineers to author and grade realistic network scenarios used to test model judgment in frontier AI labs. The role is remote and async, with rates set by experience and ongoing project work rather than a single task batch.

Responsibilities include authoring scenarios from design to outage troubleshooting, writing reference answers with reasoning, and grading model outputs for protocol accuracy. Requires 2+ years in network engineering and strong written English.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional network engineering or administration experience.
• Hands-on routing, switching, and firewalls in production.
• Depth in BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Clear written English for documenting network design and troubleshooting reasoning.
• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author realistic network scenarios from design questions through outage troubleshooting.
• Write reference answers with the design and troubleshooting reasoning behind each decision.
• Grade model output for protocol accuracy and operational soundness.
• Flag configurations that read plausible but would break production networks.
