Job summary

AfterQuery is hiring network engineers as contractors to author and grade routing, switching, and troubleshooting scenarios used to test frontier AI models. You will write reference answers with detailed reasoning and assess model outputs for protocol accuracy and production readiness.

This is a remote, fully async contractor role with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. Pay ranges from $80 to $120 per hour and is paid weekly via Stripe.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional network engineering or administration experience.
• Hands-on routing, switching, and firewalls in production environments.
• Depth in protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VPNs.
• Clear written English for documenting network design and troubleshooting reasoning.
• Able to commit at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author realistic network scenarios from design questions through outage troubleshooting.
• Write reference answers with design and troubleshooting reasoning.
• Grade model output for protocol accuracy and operational soundness.
• Flag configurations that would read as plausible but fail in production.
