Job summary

Chiesi Global Rare Diseases in the United States seeks a National Account Director, Medicaid, to drive access for rare disease products across national, state, and local government channels. You will negotiate contracts and build strategic relationships with key government payers and agencies.

Remote-friendly field-based role with up to 75% travel, requiring deep knowledge of the US payer landscape and strong cross-functional leadership to secure formulary and policy access.

Qualifications

• BS/BA required.
• 10 years related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry preferably with 7+ years’ experience in payer facing role(s) with rare/orphan products.
• Experience with State Medicaid Directors, Medical Pharmacy Benefit Administrators, CMS/VA/DoD/Tricare/Indian Health.
• Expert knowledge of current US payer environment and formulary strategies.
• Existing relationships with government channel personnel.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategic and tactical initiatives for optimal coverage, reimbursement, and patient access in National, State, and local government channels in the US.
• Negotiate contracts with US payers and government entities.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Patient Services, HUB, and Sales to meet access goals.
• Lead or co-lead discussions with government accounts and industry stakeholders.
