Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Medical Science Liaison specializing in Ophthalmology/Endocrinology to connect the medical community with scientific and medical information about Amgen’s products. You will build relationships with thought leaders, academic institutions, and healthcare organizations while translating clinical data into patient-centered insights.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration across functions, and willingness to travel up to 60% to regional and national meetings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree & 3 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of Medical Affairs experience.
• Two years of proven experience in scientific or medical affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
• Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills (including strong demonstration of ability to network).
• Ability to travel up to 60% for territory management, regional/national conferences, and company meetings.
• There may be a need to work up to 15-hour days due to travel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scientific liaison to the medical/scientific community.
• Network with external customers including thought leaders, academic institutions, and directors.
• Communicate scientific and medical information and the value of products to audiences.
• Prioritize and adapt in a dynamic environment and synthesize customer feedback.
• Identify potential new speakers and train on scientific content for sponsored programs.
• Attend national and regional conferences to support strategy and gather insights.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address opportunities with medical and health economic information.
• Evaluate external collaboration opportunities and support IITs or company-sponsored trials.
