Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking a Medical Science Liaison to act as the external scientific expert for Medical Affairs. The role focuses on endocrinology, engaging KOLs, educating healthcare providers, and supporting the portfolio and pipeline with high-level scientific communication.

The MSL will travel ~50-75% and collaborate with MOSLs, providing medical support for congresses and training internal teams while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience as a medical science liaison.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to convey scientific and clinical information in virtual and live settings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the field-based external facing medical representation of Medical Affairs.
• Create awareness of Ascendis Pharma in the endocrinology community and communicate TransCon technology potential.
• Provide medical/scientific presentations to internal and external audiences.
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) and organizations within geography.
• Identify scientific needs of HCPs, researchers, and patient advocates.
• Develop and maintain a KOL engagement plan for the geography.
• Capture external insights about disease state, portfolio, and competitors for internal stakeholders.
• Provide medical expertise to Market Access, Marketing, and Sales as needed.
• Collaborate with MOSLs to support regional deliverables.
• Contribute to Field Medical Team strategic goals and objectives.
• Support clinical trial operations and site engagement; document activities in CRM.
• Ensure compliance with department and corporate policies and procedures.
