Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison to serve as the external scientific expert within Medical Affairs. The role focuses on engaging key opinion leaders, educating healthcare providers, and supporting disease states in endocrinology with the TransCon platform.

Remote position reporting to the Director, Field Medical Team. Travel ~50-75% is expected to build relationships with KOLs and organizations across geography.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience as a medical science liaison.
• Strong oral and written communication to convey scientific and clinical information.
• Ability to make decisions impacting credibility and operations.
• Ability to create materials and present to internal and external groups.
• Must live near major airport hub within geography.
• Estimated travel ~50-75%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the field-based external facing medical representation of Medical Affairs.
• Create awareness of Ascendis Pharma in the endocrinology community and communicate the potential of TransCon technology.
• Maintain high level of medical expertise to support the portfolio/pipeline and relevant disease states.
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) and organizations for disease states within a geography.
• Develop and maintain a KOL engagement plan fostering collaborative relationships within geography.
• Capture external insights and communicate to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Provide medical expertise and support to Market Access, Marketing, and Sales as needed.
• Collaborate with MOSLs to support regional deliverables.
• Participate in Field Medical Team strategic goals and objectives.
• Provide scientific support at medical congresses and internal/external meetings.
• Provide onboarding and ongoing medical training for colleagues.
• Support clinical trial operations and site engagement, documenting activities in CRM.
• Ensure compliance with department and company policies.
