Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking an experienced Medical Science Liaison to serve as the external scientific expert in Medical Affairs, educating healthcare providers on the endocrinology portfolio and building relationships with key opinion leaders across geographies. The role reports to the Director, Field Medical Team and is remote.

The position requires MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent and a minimum of 5+ years pharma MSL experience, with strong communication skills and ability to travel 50-75%.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience as a medical science liaison.
• Strong oral and written communication with ability to present scientific information in virtual and live settings.
• Ability to create materials such as reports and presentations and to present to groups.
• Must live near a major airport hub within geography and travel approx. 50-75%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the field-based external facing medical representation of Medical Affairs.
• Create awareness of Ascendis Pharma in the endocrinology community and communicate the potential of TransCon technology.
• Maintain high level of medical expertise to support portfolio/pipeline and disease states.
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) and organizations for disease states within geography.
• Develop and maintain a KOL engagement plan and foster collaborative relationships.
• Capture external insights and communicate to internal stakeholders.
• Provide scientific support at medical congresses and participate in clinical data presentations.
• Provide onboarding and ongoing medical training for commercial and medical colleagues.
• Support clinical trial operations and engage trial investigators and sites.
