Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Physicist to lead imaging protocol development and safety initiatives across a large health system. You will guide CT/MRI protocol development, engage with vendors on new technologies, and advise imaging leadership on equipment and purchasing decisions.

The role offers an opportunity to influence the imaging program through a flexible home-based arrangement and close collaboration with a growing in-house physics team.

Qualifications

• MS required; PhD preferred.
• Experience in Medical Physics or Radiological Physics.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or equivalent sought.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Develop and evaluate radiation safety policies and practices to minimize exposure.
• Oversee EPEs of X-ray diagnostic equipment and MRI/Ultrasound systems.
• Perform shielding and dosimetry calculations to meet regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with architects on radiation-safe space planning and ALARA principles.
• Support regulatory surveys, RPC/RSC meetings, and accreditations (ACR).
