Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to lead imaging protocol development (CT and MRI, with a focus on cardiac imaging) and guide equipment decisions within a large in-house physics team. This home-based role offers autonomy to shape programs, collaborate with stakeholders, and stay current with professional development.

You will report to the Director of Radiation Safety and participate in RPC/RSC activities, while ensuring safety, compliance and high-quality patient

Qualifications

• Education: MS in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics or Medical Physics; PhD preferred.
• Licensure: Texas License in Medical Physics; certification by ABR or equivalent.
• Experience: clinical/post-graduate experience preferred; leadership in radiation safety.
• Professional society membership is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray registrations and RAM licenses.
• Develop radiation safety policies, procedures and best practices.
• Oversee equipment performance evaluations and shielding calculations.
• Assist with accreditations and regulatory surveys; coordinate equipment acceptance testing.
