Job summary

Banner Bank is seeking a Mortgage Operations Manager to lead processing and underwriting teams from application through closing. This role drives operational excellence, strengthens risk controls, and develops high-performing mortgage professionals across WA, ID, CA, and OR.

You will partner with loan production, secondary marketing, and QA to ensure compliance and smooth loan flow, mentoring staff and shaping workforce planning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead mortgage processing and underwriting operations, ensuring loans are reviewed accurately and in compliance with requirements.
• Guide teams in resolving complex and escalated loan issues while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
• Review and approve complex loan scenarios within delegated authority and escalate high-risk cases.
• Ensure consistent interpretation and application of investor, agency, regulatory, and internal lending guidelines.
• Oversee loan data integrity, documentation quality, and operational processes to maintain compliance and effectiveness.
• Manage daily workflow and pipeline performance to meet service level expectations.
• Analyze metrics and trends to identify risks and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with loan production, closing, secondary marketing, and QA to resolve challenges and improve flow.
• Promote adherence to policies and controls while supporting audit readiness and quality assurance.
