Job summary

Cart.com is actively seeking a highly detail-oriented Merchant of Record Accountant to own MoR accounting operations across our brands. You will oversee payment processing, settlements, tax compliance, and financial reporting, ensuring robust controls and accurate reconciliations in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–7 years in payments/finance within e-commerce, strong Excel skills, and working knowledge of SQL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Three to seven years of payments operations or related finance experience in e-commerce.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, settlements, merchant accounts, and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of SQL.

Responsibilities

• Own MoR accounting operations across supported brands.
• Review, validate, and approve high-value transactions.
• Monitor payment exceptions and resolve settlement issues.
• Maintain transaction-level review processes to minimize errors.
• Support tax compliance and regulatory inquiries.
• Develop playbooks and procedures to scale MoR operations.
