Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Modern Workplace Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and administrators across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, identity, automation, and collaboration. You will translate strategy into technical execution, drive roadmaps, and provide hands-on leadership.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with Security and IT teams, and guide architectural decisions for secure, scalable Modern Workplace solutions in a nationwide remote capacity.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in Modern Workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, endpoint engineering, and infrastructure.
• Three or more years of formal people-management, supervisory, or team-leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and at least two major disciplines (endpoint management, collaboration, identity, automation, messaging, or device engineering).
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-scale technology solutions.
• Experience coaching technical staff, managing performance, and supporting career development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Modern Workplace engineers and administrators.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, collaboration, identity, security, automation, and device-management technologies.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, service disruptions, and architectural decisions.
• Translate departmental strategy into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
• Establish technical standards, practices, and accountability across the team.
• Coordinate delivery across Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows, macOS, MECM, Autopilot, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Power Platform, Copilot.
• Partner with other ITS teams to design secure, reliable solutions and support incident/change management.
• Mentor, train, and develop staff; manage priorities and resource allocation.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and drive automation and repeatable engineering practices.
