Job summary

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Modern Workplace Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and administrators, guiding daily operations, engineering, and continuous improvements across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, collaboration, identity, automation, and related technologies.

You will report to the Director of Modern Workplace Engineering and be involved in technical design, troubleshooting, deployment, and governance while mentoring staff and aligning on platform

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in Modern Workplace technologies.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience acceptable.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and multiple Modern Workplace disciplines.
• Experience coaching technical staff and managing performance.
• Experience managing competing priorities, escalations, projects, and resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Microsoft 365, endpoint management, collaboration, identity, security, automation, and device-management technologies.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for complex incidents and architectural decisions.
• Participate in discovery, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Review designs, scripts, configurations, and procedures for quality and security.
• Manage work intake, prioritization, resource assignment, and delivery across teams.
• Establish standards, practices, and accountability for engineering efforts.
• Coach and mentor staff with regular one-on-one meetings and development planning.
• Identify skill gaps and create opportunities for cross-training and growth.
• Partner with leadership on platform strategy, budgeting, and vendor management.
• Coordinate delivery across Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows, macOS, MECM, Autopilot, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Power Platform, Copilot.
• Collaborate with IT teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.
• Develop automation and promote scripting and repeatable practices.
• Monitor service performance, debt, and delivery outcomes.
• Communicate risks, dependencies, and status to leadership.
