Job summary
Southern New Hampshire University seeks a Modern Workplace Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and administrators responsible for Microsoft 365, endpoint management, collaboration, identity, automation, and related technologies. You will guide technical design, troubleshooting, implementation, and escalation support while collaborating with ITS teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions.
You will report to the Director of Modern Workplace Engineering and help drive platform
Qualifications
- Seven or more years of progressive experience with Modern Workplace technologies and related fields.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience acceptable.
- Hands-on expertise in Microsoft 365 administration and multiple Modern Workplace disciplines.
- Experience reviewing designs, scripts, configurations, and operational docs; coaching staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across M365, endpoint management, collaboration, identity, security, automation, and device-management tech.
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex incidents and architectural decisions.
- Lead discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and documentation as needed.
- Review designs and procedures for quality, security, scalability, and supportability.
- Manage work intake, prioritization, resource assignment, and delivery across teams.
- Establish technical standards, practices, and accountability expectations.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and professional development planning.
- Identify skill gaps and create opportunities for cross-training and mentoring.
- Partner with Director on platform strategy, budgeting, vendor management, and improvements.
- Coordinate delivery across M365, Intune, Windows, macOS, MECM, Autopilot, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Power Platform, Copilot.
