Job summary

First Due is seeking an experienced Mobile Application Engineering Manager to lead a remote US-based team. You will oversee native iOS development with Swift, mentor engineers, and guide cross-platform trade-offs for a mission-critical, offline-first mobile application.

You will partner with Product to translate customer requirements into a roadmap, drive delivery, and ensure robust architecture and performance. Strong collaboration across disciplines is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in native iOS development with Swift; 3+ years in engineering management or tech lead role.
• Exposure to Android development for guiding mixed iOS/Android teams or cross-platform trade-offs.
• Proven track record leading mission-critical, offline-first mobile apps.
• Partner with Product/PM to translate requirements into a roadmap and drive delivery.
• Experience triaging production issues with Instabug/Firebase and coaching engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead mobile development, establish engineering practices, hire and grow the team.
• Review designs, set technical direction, unblock the team; oversee REST API integration and data synchronization.
• Guide architecture decisions (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and optimize performance.
• Collaborate with Product to shape roadmaps and ensure on-time delivery.
• Mentor engineers on debugging, performance tuning, and memory management.
• Evaluate cross-platform trade-offs and build-vs-buy options for mobile projects.
