Job summary

Stantec seeks a Structural Designer to join the Energy and Resources Design team, focusing on underground and surface mining infrastructure, shaft and headframe design, and material handling. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on projects across North America and globally, emphasizing technical growth.

The role offers collaboration with engineers and designers, opportunities for mentoring, and a pathway to leadership within a globally respected design firm.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Technical or College Course in Design/Drafting or equivalent experience.
• 6–12 years of engineering consulting or construction industry experience.
• At least 6 years in industrial consulting or industrial environments.
• Experience supporting underground or surface mining projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and implement Stantec Safety Culture and Health & Safety rules.
• Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for varied projects.
• Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality design deliverables.
• Support mining infrastructure, shaft and headframe design, material handling, and heavy industrial facilities.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to career development.
• Conduct quality assurance/control on own projects following guidelines.
• Attend project coordination meetings with internal teams.
• Travel to local project sites as needed.
