Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Structural Designer to join the Energy and Resources Design team. You will work on projects ranging from studies to detailed engineering and construction support, with focus on underground/surface mining and industrial facilities.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, grow technically, and contribute to global projects. This role emphasizes design excellence, safety, and mentorship within a remote-connected Delivery Center.

Qualifications

Graduate of Technical or College Course in Design/Drafting.
6 to 12 years of experience in engineering consulting or the construction industry.
Experience supporting underground or surface mining projects preferred.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

You are expected to understand and follow the Stantec Safety Culture and Health rules.
Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.
Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
Collaborate with engineers, designers and project teams to produce quality deliverables.
Support mining infrastructure, shaft design, material handling, and heavy facilities.
Work with Engineers and Junior Designers on fit-for-purpose designs.
Provide coaching and mentoring to designers and pursue career development.
Conduct QA/QC on own projects per guidelines.
Attend project coordination meetings and travel to local sites as needed.
