Stantec is seeking a structural engineer to join the Energy and Resources team in Phoenix, AZ. You will lead and execute design and analysis for heavy industrial infrastructure, mining and energy projects across North America and beyond.

The role emphasizes mentoring EITs, coordinating with CAD/BIM teams, and applying ASCE/AISC/ACI codes. Travel to project sites and client offices is required, with a focus on safe, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer in the Western United States with 10–20 years of structural experience.
• Experience with heavy industrial/energy infrastructure and substation design codes.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, MathCad, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for mining and energy projects.
• Develop designs via sketches, hand calculations, and software models.
• Coordinate with CAD/BIM designers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Mentor EITs and junior staff; ensure quality control per standards.
