Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Mining Construction Coordinator (Civil/Concrete) to oversee onsite civil and concrete construction for a major mining EPCM project.

The role supports the Earth & Environment team and can be performed from anywhere in the United States with a preference for Nevada/Utah locations. The candidate will lead safety-focused field execution, coordinate with design, procurement, and project controls, and manage schedules and budgets for open-pit mining work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; construction management preferred or related experience.
• 5+ years in large-scale heavy civil construction, concrete pours, and mining infrastructure.
• Hands-on construction management experience in active mining with multiple vendors.
• Knowledge of heap leach pad construction and environmental controls preferred.
• Safety-focused; MSHA 48B Surface required and OSHA 30-hour training preferred.
• Experience translating construction plans to scope, schedule and cost.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
• Able to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and work in active construction environments.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and have satisfactory driving record per MVR policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction oversight and coordination for mine development including civil, earthworks, and concrete pours.
• Manage construction contractors and field teams with focus on safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Serve as primary interface among contractors, engineering, procurement, and project controls teams.
• Coordinate with design engineers and geotechnical teams to support constructability and field modifications.
• Drive strong safety culture and compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspection, and material testing programs to meet specs and safety.
• Support procurement and field implementation of key materials and systems.
• Develop and manage construction execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and cost tracking.
• Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and conduct per policy.
