Job summary

WSP seeks a Mining Construction Coordinator (Civil/Concrete) to oversee onsite civil and concrete construction for a large mining EPCM project. This full-time role can be located anywhere in the United States, with preference for Nevada or nearby mining hubs.

Responsibilities include leading construction oversight for open pit mining environments, coordinating with engineering, procurement and project controls, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management preferred or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years in large-scale heavy civil construction, concrete pours, or mining infrastructure.
• Experience with construction plans and specs, linked to scope, schedule and cost.
• Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and have satisfactory driving record per company policy.
• MSHA 48B Surface certification and OSHA 30-hour training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction oversight and coordination for mine development of civil, earthworks, and large concrete pours, ensuring alignment with design, specs, and regulatory standards.
• Manage contractors and field teams, with oversight on safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Interface between contractors, engineering, procurement, and project controls for efficient communication and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with design engineers and geotechnical teams to support constructability and field modifications.
• Promote safety culture and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance on site.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspection, and material testing programs to verify compliance with requirements.
• Support procurement and field implementation of key materials and systems.
• Develop and manage construction execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and cost tracking.
