Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Mining Construction Coordinator (Civil/Concrete) to oversee onsite civil and concrete construction for a major mining EPCM project. The role supports fast-paced open-pit mining environments with a focus on safety, schedule, and budget compliance.

The position requires coordinating with design, geotechnical, procurement, and project controls teams while ensuring regulatory standards are met. Preference is given to candidates near Nevada or Utah, with nationwide eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management is preferred or trade school or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in large-scale heavy civil construction, concrete pours, and/or mining infrastructure.
• Demonstrated hands-on construction management experience in active mining settings.
• Understanding of heap leach pad construction and related environmental controls preferred.
• Commitment to safety. MSHA 48B Surface required and OSHA 30-hour training preferred.
• Experience with plans, specs, and relating to project scope, schedule, and cost.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and decision-making skills, with MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and end-users.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction oversight and coordination for new mine development of civil, earthworks, and large concrete pours.
• Manage construction contractors and field teams with safety, cost, schedule, and quality oversight.
• Serve as the interface between contractors, engineering, procurement, and project controls teams.
• Coordinate with design engineers, geotechnical teams, and stakeholders for constructability and field modifications.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
• Oversee QA/QC, inspection, and material testing programs to confirm construction meets requirements.
• Support procurement and field implementation of key materials and systems.
• Develop and manage construction execution plans, schedules, risk registers, and cost tracking.
